Intrastat

The obligation of companies, taking part in trading of goods for receipts or shipments, is to report to a part of the statistical system of the European Community, named Intrastat.

Intrastat is the system for collecting information and producing statistics on the trade in goods between countries of the European Union (EU), where the information are being collected on the monthly bases directly from reporting units or their representatives – declarants and are sent to an authorized central bureau electronically or in written form on a predefined data sheet. Intrastat began its operation in 1993, when it replaced customs declarations as the source of trade statistics within the EU. Statistics on trade with non-member countries (Extrastat) as a source of information still uses customs declarations.

Companies are informed about their duty to report from the Customs Administration of the Republic of Slovenia. All companies that overcome the assimilation threshold must report to the system of Intrastat. Some additional data are required from the companies that exceed the specific threshold.

In DAJ International Forwarding Agency as a declarant – that is the third party for receipts and shipments of goods, we offer the service of reporting to Intrastat in the name of our partners
